The Sunken Halls of the Bronze Serpent
A one page adventure for your favorite RPG system
Welcome back to The Hermit’s Vault to another one page dungeon.
Sometimes you just need a bit of inspiration to fill an hour or two at your table. This is where one page dungeons really shine. The Sunken Halls of the Bronze Serpent is designed as a quick adventure that should fit into most fantasy settings. I have chosen not to include stats for the monsters so it is possible to drop the adventure into most game systems from 5e to OSR.
But first let's set the mood with a little story.
The Sunken Halls of the Bronze Serpent
“I don’t like this,” Ysel whispered, grabbing on to Joren’s arm to keep from slipping in the mud. “Maybe we should just go home.”
Joren said nothing. His sickle shook in his hand.
Ahead, the sunken temple they’d been searching for rose from the muck, wrapped in vines.
Goblin faces, carved into the stone, stared from the walls, all looking at a huge snake coiled around the base.
Ysel grabbed Joren’s arm as the water moved. “Did you see that? Something’s moving.”
Joren dropped the sickle. He wanted to run. But a voice slid into his thoughts, cold and clear.
“Come, my lovely prey.”
A golden eye opened beneath the surface, watching.
Joren turned to flee, pulling Ysel with him, but someone blocked the path. A goblin, tall and thin, wore a mask made of wood and bone. It carried a crooked staff and smelled like damp earth.
“The Bronze Serpent hungers,” it said. “It remembers the blood.”
Then the water exploded. Bronze coils wrapped around them, cold and wet and too strong to fight.
Joren screamed. Ysel kicked and fought, but the serpent’s grip only tightened.
“Worthy.”
“Delicious.”
Then the water closed over their heads.

Loving one page Dungeons. This is not slop. The typo in room 9 is evidence of human creation.
I like these. Thank you.
